Events Roundup for Thursday, August 13: Happy anniversary, Fullsteam! AND Pop the Cap! (and more!)

Today is the 5th anniversary of the opening of beloved Durham brewery and community meeting place, Fullsteam Brewery! It’ no secret that we love Fullsteam (Mr. & Mrs. Bull City Events even got married there!) so we highly recommend you go grab a beer and wish Sean and the gang a happy anniversary and many returns!

It’s also the 10th anniversary of Pop the Cap, the legislative act supported by many beer lovers in NC and spearheaded by Sean Lilly Wilson of Fullsteam, the nascent NC Brewers Guild, and the folks over at All About Beer magazine. Their hard work got the legislature to change the maximum ABV of beers sold in NC from 6% to 15%, enabling us to enjoy many more higher alcohol beers here in our fair state. Thanks again, y’all! The beer scene wouldn’t be the same without you.
